Home Grown Books
Home Grown Books™ is an education and art collaboration based in Brooklyn, New York, with a mission to create smart and beautiful early readers, so kids have a fun and successful first reading experience.
Language Dept - Project Image Of Home Grown Books
Our job was to create new boxes for HGB's sets of early reader books that worked to tell the brand story, merchandise the product, and support the environmental values of this start-up publisher. A true brand package.

The new logo is inspired by the city and childhood learning systems. The visual repitition of frames and layers references the artist partnerships at the core of the product collections. The boxes themselves open like books to reveal additional information to parents. Bonus: their glueless design supports the eco mission of Home Grown Books.

Store merchandising and the bulk shipping required a more indestructible box structure. In this hands-on environment, sustainable meant durable. For in-store sales, we developed an alternate housing with velcro closure and an upright opening, allowing repeat opening and closing to discover the books inside.
